USSV is sponsored by the Federation of Church Women. It is a non-profit, ecumenical ministry to people who find themselves in crisis. The USSV's goal is to be a local mission in Vernon.  Their organization is a location where people can go when they are in trouble. They will help when it is with in their power to do so. They operate a clothing, housewares, etc resale shop to support the people of Vernon and to help over the overhead of the expenses of the organization. These items are offered at no cost to those who are in need of them.  The operate a food pantry and offer some finical assistance for those who are in a crisis situation.
